Of vision & voyeurism

Yes...'world cinema' still allures me....& I happenned to watch Kieslowski's polish classic 'A short film on Love' recently which had a profound impact on me. The movie tells the story of an obsessed lover who ogles at an elderly neighbour's private life through his personal telescope & is quite unapologetic about it. However, there's hardly anything sexual about this attraction as is also portrayed in Buddhadedb Dasgupta's bengali film " AMi, Yasin r amar Madhubala" aka " The voyeurs" & this essence of pure love resembles Wong kar Wai's classic " In the mood for love". The remarkability of the film lies in the fact that while showing the seemingly sexual act of " Voyeurism" , it portrays platonic love. ...& that's how I'll end this post amidst my 'writer's block' & will name it " a short post on a film".
